Check affordability before shortlisting homes
Use income, existing commitments, credit history and a rate buffer to set a practical range.

A practical budget starts with verified net income, recurring commitments and the cash available after the purchase. Banks assess applications under their own policies, so an online calculator is only a planning aid.
Review your CCRIS information early and correct any genuine error through the proper channel. CCRIS records financing and repayment history; it is not a blacklist and it is only one part of a lender's assessment.
Test the monthly payment at a higher interest rate and include maintenance, assessment, quit rent, insurance and repairs. Keep the property range comfortable enough for normal life and emergencies.
