From offer to handover: a subsale roadmap

Before signing an offer, confirm the property, price, included items, deposit treatment and conditions such as financing. Appoint a conveyancing lawyer early and give complete information.

Financing, valuation, title searches, consent where applicable, redemption of the seller's loan and execution of the SPA move on related but separate timelines. Delays can arise when documents or approvals are missing.

At handover, record keys, meter readings, vacant possession condition and agreed fixtures. Keep signed documents and payment records securely.
